Scientific research
Research is the third of the fundamental pillars of the Smile House Model and is, for us, the strategic lever for the continuous improvement of care quality, resource optimisation and clinical and technological innovation.
In a complex field such as cranio-maxillofacial malformations, we believe that the systematic collection of clinical, genetic and surgical data, together with data from all the other specialities involved, is the only way to create shared databases, essential for producing scientific evidence useful to medical practice and health planning.
Our objectives: effectiveness and prevention
We work every day to ensure that the research activity promoted by Smile House Fondazione ETS is aimed at:
- improving the effectiveness and personalisation of treatments for every patient;
- contributing to prevention through the analysis of genetic and environmental factors;
- reducing costs borne by the Italian National Health Service through more efficient, person-centred protocols;
- creating synergies between care and innovation.
Impact of research
Through our projects, we support a virtuous system in which clinical practice fuels research and vice versa. Our commitment translates into:

- participation in major national and international conferences;
- dissemination of knowledge within the clinical and academic community.
