Together, to provide care
There is a place, in the heart of Rome, where every day we work to restore trust and peace of mind to those born with a facial malformation. It is the Smile House Centre at the San Filippo Neri Hospital, where for years we have been working with the Lazio Region and the ASL Roma 1 to provide comprehensive care that looks not only at the surgical aspect, but also at the human and emotional side.nOn 20 May we renewed the Memorandum of Understanding that gives strength to this alliance. A concrete gesture that confirms, once again, how important it is to work in synergy to guarantee every child and their family an effective, accessible and high-quality care journey.
A story that grows with us
The one in Rome was one of the first Smile House Centres in Italy. Since 2017, we have cared for 334 patients, supported step by step by a dedicated multidisciplinary team, on a journey that begins as early as prenatal diagnosis and accompanies young patients until the end of their development.nOver these years we have never stopped, not even during the pandemic. We carried on with determination, because we knew that every postponed appointment could mean added distress for a family, an added complication for a child. And today, thanks to the renewal of the agreement with the Lazio Region and the ASL Roma 1, we can continue along this path with even greater strength.
A model that looks to the future
The renewal of the Protocol is not just a confirmation, but a fresh start. The agreement provides for the development of new scientific research projects, training activities for young professionals, exchanges of experience between our eight Centres across Italy, and international cooperation initiatives.nWe are convinced that the quality of care also depends on the sharing of skills, on technological innovation and on the ability to look beyond the individual operation in order to build a journey that is truly tailored to each patient.
An important step, in the year of our 25th anniversary
This signing comes in a special year for us: 2025 marks the 25th anniversary of Smile House Fondazione ETS. A milestone that moves us, but above all one that drives us to do even more.
We are proud to continue walking alongside the Lazio Region and the ASL Roma 1. Together, we will continue to build a model of care that combines medical excellence and human closeness. So that every child can face their own journey with confidence. And feel supported, always.
